چکیده

In the present work, an investigation on surface topography and geometry variation of bagasse fibers was correlated with their mechanical properties via image analysis. The were tested under a universal tensile testing machine diameter calculated using images obtained in digital microscope. Furthermore, characterization quantification also performed SEM. results showed that roughness alkali-treated fiber increased compared to untreated one. Moreover, it observed along its length among different is not only variable but unpredictable. test revealed lower stress at rupture considerable scatter. It can be inferred synergistic effect thick fiber, variations fibers, fracture mechanism establishes local condition for resulted such properties. Finally, clearly two-parameter Weibull fit experimental data fairly well (R2=0.97). modulus (m) found 1.7, indicating strength distribution high.

Creep behavior of bagasse fiber reinforced polymer composites.

The creep behavior of bagasse-based composites with virgin and recycled polyvinyl chloride (B/PVC) and high density polyethylene (B/HDPE) as well as a commercial wood and HDPE composite decking material was investigated. The instantaneous deformation and creep rate of all composites at the same loading level increased at higher temperatures. At a constant load level, B/PVC composites had better...

Bagasse Fiber Composites-A Review

A composite material is made by combining two or more materials to give a unique combination of properties, one of which is made up of stiff, long fibres and the other, a binder or 'matrix' which holds the fibres in place. The fibres are strong and stiff relative to the matrix and are generally orthotropic. More recently natural fibers have been employed in combination with plastics. The abunda...

Mechanical Properties of Irregular Fiber (Invited Review Paper)

Irregularities are inherent to virtually all fibers, including the conventional textile fibers, the high-performance brittle fibers and newly developed nano-fibers. These irregularities can fall into two main categories: dimensional or geometrical irregularity (external) and structural irregularity (internal). For natural fibers such as wool, diameter variation along fiber length is atypical ex...

study on the tensile proprties of bagasse polypropylene composite

in this research, the possibility of using high percentage of lignocellulosic fibers in making natural fiber-thermoplastic composite was studied. three weight percentages of bagasse flour namely 40, 55 and 70 percents were chosen. mapp was used as coupling agent at two weight percentages of pp, namely 0, 4 and 6 percents. tensile strength was measured applying instron 6025. the results showed t...

analysis of elastic-plastic behavior of fiber metal laminates subjected to in-plane tensile loading

fiber metal laminates are hybrid laminates consisting of thin alternating bonded layers of aluminum and fiber/epoxy. arall (aramid aluminum laminate) and galare (glass fiber reinforced aluminum laminate) are specific kinds of fiber metal laminates that consist of thin aluminum sheets along with kevlar/epoxy and glass/epoxy composite layers, respectively. in this study, nonlinear tensile behavio...
